Today I am joined by a player rising up the rankings and aiming to break into the top 32 in the rankings!, Chris Dobey!
Thanks for joining me Chris, hope you enjoy the interview!
Q1. You have been doing well on the tour this year, I'm sure you are pleased with that?
Yes, it's now my second year on the tour and my aim was to keep my card so to have a start like this to my second year is great.
Q2. You are in a good position to qualify for the worlds, do you think you can qualify and what would that mean to you and your family playing on that big stage?
Yes of corse, never say never, I'm playing well enough and I'm quite positive that I can make it there, it would mean a lot to me to get there but even more so for my family and friends back home.
Q3. You recently signed with 'The Big Name In Darts' Unicorn who manufacture your darts, how proud are you being sponsored by them?
It means a lot to me to have a sponsor as big as unicorn who are backing me to do well and it's a pleasure to be part of the team along with a lot of great players, also it's nice to actually have my own darts being made.
Q4. Gary Anderson is your mentor/manager, what is like being managed by the back to back World Champion?
Yes, it's brilliant to have Gary as a mentor along with Tommy Gilmour as a manager, there's no pressure what so ever we just do what we've got to do. They both know what I'm capable of and that's why they believe in me.
Q5. Who do you travel with the most in darts?
There's nobody I travel with the most to be honest, I used to travel with Adam Hunt who is also mentored by Gary/Tommy and also travelled with Kev McDine who are both no longer on the tour unfortunately.
Q6. Finally, are you targeting to be in the top 32 in a year or so?
Well like I said its my aim to retain my card this year and once I get that then I will definitely be looking to further myself so yes I would say top 32 would be the aim for me.
Thanks for joining me Chris, hope you enjoyed the interview
Not a problem thank you!
