Today we are joined by PDC commentator Dan Dawson.
Thanks for joining us Dan, I hope you enjoy these questions!
Q1. In your opinion, what is the best dart match you have ever commentated on?
It depends what you mean by "commentated on"; I've done full commentary on Michael van Gerwen beating Gary Anderson in a Euro Tour final in Hildesheim, where MvG averaged around 117. In terms of standard, that was phenomenal, and it was one of the first monster averages that MvG went on to hit on big stages.
However, I've done radio updates on live darts for a number of years now, and there are all kinds of candidates for the "best" game there. Taylor features in loads of them, as you'd expect, but I'll plump for Scott Rand v Kim Huybrechts in the first round of the World Championship. Rand was spectacular; blending showboating and arrogance with some phenomenally good darts.
Nobody else would pick that game out of the last few years of PDC darts, but that'll only make me more determined to stick with it as my choice.
Q2. In your opinion, do you think the likes of Joe Cullen, Benito van De Pas, Daryl Gurney can make it into the Premier League one day?
They have all got the potential to do it, but there's a big difference between having potential and realising it.
I'm sure there are people out there who thought Cullen would be in the Premier League already by now, when he first came on the scene as a prospect a number of years ago. However, there's no denying that his performances have improved this year, and if he continues in that vein, he could become a genuine threat in all the big tournaments.
Gurney is in a similar position; he's certainly hitting a lot of 180s nowadays, and he now has to show he can play at that consistently good level in big tournaments.
Benito, I believe, is probably the best of the crop of "younger" players along with Michael Smith. Michael has already made the Premier League, of course, but I don't think Benito will be very far behind - I don't see any real weaknesses in his game.
Q3. In your opinion, who is the greatest darts player of all time?
Phil Taylor.
Everyone else is playing for second place.
If Michael van Gerwen (or anyone else) wins another 15 world titles, is still playing in 25 years, and has taken darts on to another level almost single-handedly, then I'll happily revise my opinion - but until then, it's The Power.
Q4. If you weren't a darts commentator, where would we find you?
I'm not really - I just play at it during my holidays from work.
My day job is as a journalist at a radio station in the West Midlands. I read the news every morning and spend my days reporting on things like stabbings and council cutbacks.
Had I not done anything in the media, I've got no idea what I'd be doing now.
Q5. Do you think you will be doing some commentating for Sky/ITV one day?
I've done a few bits of work for ITV, and have been involved in the World Series events this year, but I'll jump at any opportunities to be involved in working with the darts - it's great fun.
Q6. Finally, who do you think will win the World Matchplay this year apart from Michael van Gerwen?
MvG would've been my pick, but I think there are a considerable number of players who have the capability to lift the trophy.
Anderson is undoubtedly the main threat to van Gerwen's title, but you cannot discount Taylor and Wade (who always seem to play well in Blackpool) - and that's before we even get to the likes of Lewis, Barney and and Chizzy.
However, I'm going to stick my neck out and predict that Peter Wright will beat Jelle Klaasen in the final.
Call me mad.
Call me an idiot.
I don't care.
That's what I'm predicting.
You can predict whatever you like.
I'm almost certainly wrong, but I'm looking forward to seeing how it all plays out at the Winter Gardens.
